Oedipus Rex Theater Project

Oedipus Cucumber,
A free interpretation of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles,
This is an immersive theater. And audience-centered performance.
I was the set designer, writer, director, and actor on this show.
This performance has been one of the best experiences in my theater career.
Watching this performance awakens an inner journey in the audience.
The show begins with a church music piece by Arvo Pärt and ends with music from Linkin Park.
It's evident that during this time, no direct interaction occurs with the audience. Instead, due to the unique architecture and the sequential rooms of the venue, each event unfolds in the backrooms itself.
Each room contains an interpretation of Oedipus Rex, which connects like puzzle pieces, creating a collaged image of Oedipus in our minds (an unreal Oedipus).
In the end, I realized that this performance was not just a theater production but a combination of painting, storytelling, and performance art.
The sculpture of Mary Magdalene, the church-like architecture of the venue, Arvo Pärt's music, rope dancing, and the actors all contributed to the success of this work.
